There’s a wonderful story out by Kei Sanbe called Erased, originally published in serial format from 2012 to 2016. My local library recently got the first compiled volume, and I was excited to give it a read after reading the premise on the back. You can read the Wikipedia page here.
It was really good! It’s got a fantastical element that I like in stories, the characters are likeable, and the stakes that main character is working for are important enough to keep you engaged even if you don’t care for the other two aspects. I wanted to find out some way to get a message to Kei Sanbe, but I couldn’t find anything online about how to get ahold of him, so if anyone out there knows how to contact this guy, please let me know, so I can tell him how much I liked his story! In other news, I’ve finished my edits and revisions of my next project, and have started querying agents and publishers to find someone interested. I’ll keep everyone informed on how that’s going over the next few months, though I’ll try not to belabor the point. This is my second project that I’ve shopped around, and I know I’ll likely be in for a long slog as I give it to people for consideration. Anyone who has gone through this process can attest to the particular difficulty of submitting your work for the approval of strangers, but that’s what we have to do as writers. Wish me luck.
